On 10/04/2016, Officers from Demopolis Police Department along with officers from the 17^th Judicial Drug Task Force and ATF executed a “NO-KNOCK” search warrant at 1484 County Road 1, in search of drugs, stolen guns and property, Upon officers making entry into the residence DPD SWAT Team Members were met by an aggressive pitbull dog attacked which attacked a DPD SWAT Officer by biting him on the hand. The dog was shot in the process by another SWAT Officer. During the search Officers found a stolen handgun , Marijuana and paraphernalia.  The DPD Officer that was attacked was treated and released from Bryan Whitfield Hospital with a minor injury. 

The subject listed below was arrested and charged with the following.

Russell Scott Pope, W/M, age 28 of Gallion, Alabama

One (1) Count of Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree

One (1) Count of Possession of Marijuana 2rd Dergee

One (1) Count of Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm

One (1) Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He was pocessed and transported the the Marengo County Detention Center for a Bond Hearing.
